"So Great is His Love"
Christian Essays and Meditations
"The stories and lessons that she learned and shared with
others form the basis for her book. She left this book
in her computer,
with the request that it someday be published. This book is now published by her
husband, Harold Putnam, with assistance from her children: Beth Cole, Bill
Putnam, George Putnam.
This is Lois Putnam -- her writing, her talking, her struggles, her story, her life of faith. The family has done very little editing. This is not meant to be a scholarly book; it is simply a sharing of her struggles and her growth in faith."
Preface:
Most of these meditations and essays on Bible portions had their origin during the ten years that I visited one-on-one in the Community Correctional Center in South Burlington, or the Northwest State Correctional Center in St.Albans, Vt.
I read a great many pages of available material about these various Bible passages and then wrote my composite as it came naturally; therefore there are many insights that were not mine originally, but many that were. Always I had in mind the guests I was visiting and their needs. Countless were the times when one left our time together saying, "I feel SO much better than I did when I came in here." Or, "That just hit the nail on the head for me today."
Incentive enough. I still have an idea that someone somewhere can still benefit from some of the ideas included here. I leave it as my legacy, my wish to be of some little help to someone in the universally experience struggle to live in God's world and to grow.
